It was a long and challenging 2 years for all of us since the COVID19 took its toll, and now people are dying to travel, go on a concert, join an event that they love or take a vacation just to forget everything behind. Racing and motorsport fans and enthusiasts are dying for a great event to go to, missing the adrenaline rush cruising through their veins feeling the rush of the race. Are you one of them? So here are 3 major Racing/Motorsport events you should consider grabbing some tickets to.
2022 Formula One Racing
First up, is to feel the rush of the infamous Formula One Racing, which its history roots back in 1920. Just so you know, this event is considered as the highest-class racing car competition and the most popular racing series in the world. The great thing about the said racing event is that every year they are pushing endless automotive technological innovation towards a great victory, with a cap cost of over $145 million per team with some crypto / NFT partnerships. Currently, they are now looking at 100% fuel sustainability to push their innovation much further, expected to soon rise by 2025/2026. This year will be the running 73rd Formula 1 World Championship, and now is currently on Pre-season testing with new cars, some added technical regulations, same racing stars 17 of them from 2021, and a few wildcards contenders like Guanyu Zhou on his F1 debut. Will Lewis Hamilton reclaim for his 8th title over last year’s champion Max Verstappen?
This year’s race will be featuring new technologies from circuit racing tires, gears, car systems and up to the latest racing car from Mercedes, the “W13”. Opening races will be in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia (March 25-27) featuring 22 series of Grand Prix spread out on different countries from Canada, Singapore, and Canada ending at Abu Dhabi by November 22, it is scheduled to end a bit earlier in preparation for the FIFA World Cup. Monaco Grand Prix Historique
Next up is the 13th Monaco Grand Prix Historique, happening this May 13-15. Organized by the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM). If you are into more vintage-style racing, this race is a good fit for you. In case you did not know, the Monaco Historic Grand Prix is a historic motorsport-focused automotive racing series and was first held in the year 1997 and is only celebrated in even-numbered years or every two years. The original event was in celebration of the Grimaldi Family’s presidency over Monaco. In the upcoming racing event, 200 cars will battle in 8 series and will run for 3 days. The difference with this race is the cars, F1 cars are great but imagine the beauty of ancient racing cars performing at their best, giving you such retrospective racing vibe is such a wonderful moment to witness. Goodwood Festival of Speed
Lastly, is the well-known Goodwood Festival of Speed founded by Lord March in 1993. If you want to feel one of the world’s greatest motorsport and car celebration? Then this is the right racing event for you! This annual event is presented by Mastercard, famous as the ultimate motorsport summer garden party to be held in the glamorous parkland surrounding Goodwood House. The best thing about the event is that visitors are allowed to go near up-close in some part of the track. There is no other racing event like this where you can really get close to such amazing cars and bikes. Yes! You hear it right, up-close and personal, nowhere else will you can have unrestricted access to witness such great cars.
Also, what makes this event one of a kind is that it has multiple features. The first one is the “Forest Rally Stage”. This is where all rally cars are shown off as a demonstration at the top of the hill, with a separate finish and starting line at the top of the wood, allowing many cars to run and be showcased at a timed interval manner.
The next feature is the “Michelin Supercar Paddock” this is the part where supercars could to do a timed run, showing off the latest sport car models from specialty car manufacturers. Another attraction is “The Arena”, a large tarmac with a large viewing area just above the paddock, the tarmac has 2 donut-shaped barrels and 2 wall rides where you can watch drift and stunt driving throughout the day and is also shown off on the big screen.
Since 2017, the “Future Lab” was introduced as part of the exhibition featuring future science and global reveal debut of such prototype flying vehicles and autonomous trucks and cars.
And lastly, the “Cartier Style et Luxe” is held west of the house featuring a stunning auto show just like the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The best thing about this attraction is that, unlike any other concour show, the specific event is judged by a selected panel of celebrities and car designers from all over the world.
