    Jody Troup was the son of American jazz pianist, singer, actor, and songwriter Bobby Troup. He was born as the lastborn of the famous actor on May 28, 1963, together with his twin brother Reese Troup. Besides Reese, Jody Troup had other older siblings, including Kelly, Ronne, Stacy, and Lisa. Some of his siblings, such as Kelly and Ronne, took up after their father and pursued a career in the entertainment industry.

    Personal Life

    Even though his parents and older siblings were famous, Jody Troup chose to lead a private life. Most details of his personal life are unknown, but it is likely that he was married and had children. It is just that he chose to keep his family away from the public eye. Jody Troup was a reserved individual, and he loved his family.

    Professional Life

    Jody Troup did not take after his father or older siblings; he did not choose a career in the entertainment industry. Jody worked in a sector that did not elicit public reaction since he disliked the pressures of being a celebrity. Though his professional career is unknown, he must have been doing something that could help take care of his financial demands and his family.

    Jody’s Father

    Jody’s father was born in 1918, and he ventured into the entertainment industry in the early 1940s. Like any normal human being, Bobby went through school, majoring in economics while in college. While in college, Jody’s father decided to try his luck in the music industry; he recorded several songs in the late 1930s, but his success in the music industry came in 1941 when his song Daddy pulled many listeners.

    Jody’s father also served in the military, and during his term in service, he continued his musical journey, recording several songs, most of which did well. He succeeded greatly in the 1940s, but his music was less influential in the 50s and 60s.

    Jody’s Father as an Actor

    Jody’s father attracted attention as a musician, and various producers approached him to appear on television shows and films. Most of his appearances happened in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s when his music was not doing well.

    His early acting credits include Bop Girl Goes Calypso, The Five Pennies, and The High Cost of Living. He also played various roles in musicals; for instance, Jody’s father portrayed Tommy Dorsey in the movie The Gene Krupa Story. Jody’s father also appeared in multiple shows where he showcased his musical talents, including The Case of the Missing Melody and The Case of the Jaded Joker.

    In the 1970s, Jody’s father appeared in a few shows, including Dragnet, Emergency, and The Rebels. However, afterward, Bobby Troup did not get many acting roles but remained active in the acting industry until 1995, a few years before his death.

    Death

    Jody Troup comes from a family that had a history of heart issues; his father died in 1999 due to a heart attack, which also killed him eleven years later in 2010. Jody was 47 at the time of his death, and he left a young family.
