Born on September 12, 1977, in College Park, Georgia, U.S. Tauheed Epps AKA 2 Chainz was primarily brought up by his mother, since his father was arrested quite frequently and put into jail. Talking about the same, he said, “The fact that my mom raised me, used to bother my pop. He didn’t know a woman could raise a man. And they’d have differences of opinions all the time. My pops used to tell me things from prison and as soon as he hung up my mom would say, ‘don’t listen to him.’ ” He went to the ‘North Clayton High School’. He was an amazingly good basketball player in high school and also scored second position during his graduation. He was merely 15 years of age when he was arrested for peddling marijuana and cocaine.

In 1997, Epps formed a band along with his childhood friend Earl Conyers. The band was called “Playaz Circle” and meant “Preparing Legal Assets for Years from A to Z”. Epps named himself “Tity Boi” while Earl named himself “Dolla Boy”. In 2002, he released his album “United We Stand, United We Fall”. After its release the duo met “Ludacris” who went on to almost become a part of them and recorded several songs for them in his studio.
