Personal Life
Tyler was born in Ladera Heights, California, on March 6, 1991. He is of mixed descent. His father is Nigerian with Igbo ancestry and his mother is an American with African-American and European-Canadian descent. Growing up, he never met his father. Tyler got his stage name from his MySpace page where he used to post his creative works.
He grew up in Ladera Heights and Hawthorne. In his early years, he would make his own cover tracks from album covers. Tyler then taught himself piano when he was 14 years old.
Living in Greater Los Angeles, Tyler has attended 12 different schools in his 12 years of school. He also worked while still in high school at FedEx, for under 2 weeks, and at Starbucks, for two years.
Back in 2015, Tyler, the Creator, was banned from visiting the United Kingdom for 3 to 5 years. It was because of the lyrics in his song back in 2009. Tyler had to cancel a lot of shows on his Cherry Bomb tour and a number of appearances at the Reading and Leeds festival.

Career
Tyler has a group called “Odd Future” with Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, and Casey Veggies. It was founded in 2007. In late 2008, their first mixtape was released. Tyler began gaining popularity when he released his solo debut mixtape entitled “Bastard”.
His solo mixtape reached number 23 in the 2010 list on the Pitchfork Media’s Top Albums. In February 2011, Tyler released his music video entitled “Yonkers”. It gained popularity and has attracted several media outlets which made Tyler release an extended video of Yonkers. With his single Yonker, Tyler won in 2011 the Best New Artist on the MTV Video Music Awards.
Tyler then appeared on his first television show on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in which he performed “Sandwitches”. In March 2012, “Loiter Squad” Tyler and Odd Future’s television show premiered on Adult Swim which was produced by Jackass, a production company. It ran for three seasons and the show was a 15 minute live-action that features music, sketches, prankings, and man on the streets segments.
Tyler’s second album entitled Wolf which was released on April 2, 2013. The album was produced by Odd Future Records and RED distribution which is under Sony Music Entertainment.
