Plot:
Dance Moms is a television reality dance show which is based on a dance academy named Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) owned by Abby Lee Miller. The show features a group of young dancers and their moms. Abby Lee Miller and her dance academy staff train these dancers and prepare them to win different dance competitions that they participate in. Apart from just dancing, the show offers a great deal of drama since it not only features the dancers but their moms too.
While the dancers are busy training and competing against each other, their moms, most of whom are professional dancers themselves, share competitive rivalry on behalf of their daughters. While the girls shared a close bond with each other, their moms often got into an argument or even a conflict of opinion with Miller and each other.
Miller is an extremely strict dance trainer and choreographer who believes that criticism both individually and as a team is an effective way to improve the performance of the dancers. She often encourages them to hold a competitive feeling against their teammates so that the dancers strive to get better.
