The show Dance Moms is based on   Abby Lee Miller’s dance academy that trains a group of dancers to become the best and prepares them to win the competitions that they participate in. The moms of these dancers are quite competent and share a great deal of competitive rivalry with each other. They often get into arguments about who is the best dancer amongst their daughters and seek Miller to help them find the answer.

Plot:

Dance Moms is a television reality dance show which is based on a dance academy named Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) owned by Abby Lee Miller. The show features a group of young dancers and their moms. Abby Lee Miller and her dance academy staff train these dancers and prepare them to win different dance competitions that they participate in. Apart from just dancing, the show offers a great deal of drama since it not only features the dancers but their moms too.

While the dancers are busy training and competing against each other, their moms, most of whom are professional dancers themselves, share competitive rivalry on behalf of their daughters. While the girls shared a close bond with each other, their moms often got into an argument or even a conflict of opinion with Miller and each other. 

Miller is an extremely strict dance trainer and choreographer who believes that criticism both individually and as a team is an effective way to improve the performance of the dancers. She often encourages them to hold a competitive feeling against their teammates so that the dancers strive to get better.

• Abby Lee Miller is the founder of Reign Dance Productions and also a choreographer by profession. She is also the head of the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC). 
• Gianna Martello works with Abby Lee Miller and works as an instructor for the Reign Dance Productions. 
• Martello is also an assistant choreographer at the ALDC and teaches the Junior Elite Competition team.
• Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni is a lyrical/contemporary and tap dancer and also the mother of Maddie Ziegler.

Will there be a season 9?

An incident of a racist remark made by one of the contestant’s mothers led to the show being canceled. Later Miller tried to explain the remark too, but couldn’t save the show. Hence, as of now, there is no news about the show being renewed for a ninth season.
