I’m sure you’ve seen these home decor ideas on Pinterest or HGTV. These pictures are so inspiring, but the truth is they’re not for everyone. We all have different tastes and budgets, which means we can’t do every single thing out there! That’s why I’m going to give you some of my favorite interior design ideas that will work in any home without breaking your budget.
Table of Contents
Walls
Paint is a great way to change up the look of your space. I’m not talking about painting over everything white (although that can be nice, too). If you’re going for something more drastic and bold, mix two colors together or put brown on top of cream! It’s one thing someone else has probably never done before and it will make your room stand out.
Ceiling Lighting
The ceiling is often overlooked, but having a light fixture there can completely change the mood of any space. One thing I like to do is install an uplight or downlight on one side so that my living spaces don’t get too dark when they are lit.
Window Treatments
Just like with walls, sometimes you just need a change. Swap out the curtains for something new or put in some sheers to make things look more romantic and intimate. If you’re looking for something less expensive, consider balancing your old curtains by adding another layer of lighter material on top so that they cover up any stains or holes.
Lighting
The lighting in your home is just as important, if not more so than the other items we’ve talked about. Make sure you have enough light to read and do everything else that needs it! You can install a dimmer for any lights at all times of the day or buy lamps with different brightness settings that will suit your needs.
Kitchen
The kitchen is where most people spend the majority of their time. That means it’s important to have a space that feels comfortable and cozy while still being functional. You can do this by adding some appliances or furniture in there for more storage since everybody needs somewhere to put their stuff!
Bathroom
It should come as no surprise that a bathroom is a place people spend their time, too. I love to add texture and color with some cool towels or accessories like an art print on the wall.
Bedroom
If you’re looking for something more expensive but worth it, consider getting a new bed! It’s likely one of the most costly pieces of furniture in your home and can make all the difference when you’re about to sleep. It’ll help with back pain and be more comfortable for everyone!
Garage/Attic
This one is an unconventional idea but still worth mentioning if it’s available in your home. If you have a large enough attic space, consider turning it into an office or guest room if there’s no other place to put it!
In Conclusion
I hope this post has given you some ideas for decorating the inside of your house and making it feel like yours. The best part is that with these interior design ideas, you can make your house look like anything you want!
