    1.  Crib/Bassinet

The crib is one of the vital pieces of furniture in your nursery. It’s where your baby will sleep for the first few months (or years) of their life. When choosing a crib, make sure to choose one that meets all safety standards and is made from non-toxic materials.

    2.  Baby Carrier

This is a must-have for new parents. The baby carrier lets you keep your baby close while freeing up your hands to do other things. There are numerous different types of carriers available, so be sure to choose one that’s comfortable and fits your lifestyle.

    3.  Bedding

Once you have a crib and mattress, you’ll need some bedding. Bedding includes the crib sheet, blanket, and bumper pad. When choosing beddings, be sure to choose safe materials for your baby. Cotton is a good choice because it’s soft and breathable.

    4.  Mattress

The mattress is similarly important as the crib. It’s crucial that you choose a safe and comfortable mattress for your baby to sleep on. Mattresses come in different shapes and sizes, so be sure to do your research before buying one. You’ll also want to buy a waterproof mattress pad to protect the mattress from accidents.

    5.  A Changing Table

This is a must-have for any nursery. Babies need to be changed often, so having a place to do this easily will make your life much easier. You can also use the table to hold other diapers, wipes, and ointment items.

    6.  Dresser

The dresser is another must-have item for any nursery. It will hold all of your baby’s clothes and other items, such as diapers, wipes, creams, etcetera. If you’re short on space in this area, consider getting a taller piece that has multiple drawers, so it takes up less room while still providing adequate storage capabilities.

    7.  Curtains/Decorations that match the theme of the room

Themes are an excellent way to customize your nursery and add some personality. When choosing a theme, choose something fun and unique and one that reflects you and your baby’s interests. This could include curtains, bedding, wall art, etcetera.

If possible, try not to buy anything with loud colors or patterns because babies are first sensitive to light, which could cause them some discomfort. If you stay in a sunny area, you should buy some window blinds or curtains to keep off the sun from shining directly on your baby while they’re sleeping. This will help them sleep better during the day.

    8.  A Baby Monitor

Baby monitors are great because they allow you to see what your little one is doing at any time without having them nearby. They also come with many different features like sound detection and movement detection, so if anything happens during sleep hours, an alarm will go off, alerting you immediately.

    9.  A Glider/Rocking Chair

A glider always comes to mind to anyone thinking about nursery essentials. The chair’s rocking motion is calming for both mommy and baby. It will offer you a comfortable place to sit, relax and bond with your baby while you’re bottle or breastfeeding or rocking your baby to sleep. It can come in handy when your baby is fussy, and you need to calm them down. These chairs can be used both in and out of the house, making them versatile.

    10. A Night Light

A nightlight helps with the baby’s sleep patterns and provides peace of mind when looking at them throughout their slumber hours. It also makes getting up during the night much easier since there’s no need to turn on bright lights that might wake your little one. There are lamps equipped with dimmer switches so parents can adjust light levels accordingly. These lamps provide just enough illumination without being overwhelming and can be used during the day.

    11. Pacifiers

Babies use pacifiers to self-soothe, and many parents find that their babies calm down faster when they’re using a pacifier. If you settle on giving your baby a pacifier, make sure to buy several of them, so you always have one available if it’s dropped or lost. You’ll also want to keep an eye on how often your baby uses the pacifier, as too much sucking can cause problems with teeth alignment later on in life.

This is a great list of baby items that every new parent should have. You don’t need to purchase everything on this list, but it helps think about what kind of stuff will help make your life easier and be good for your child. Be sure to do your research and get input from other parents to find out what you might need.
